Brief note about the Department:

     In Formation of New Districts in the Year 2016 the office has been established in the name of “District Youth & Sports Office” under control off Three Head of the Departments.

Head of Departments:

       1) TSSTEP: Telangana State Society for Training &   

            Employment Promotion, HOD: Chairman, TSSTEP,  Secunderabad.

      2)  Youth Services: HOD: Director of Youth Services, Secunderabad.

      3) SAT (Sports Authority of Telangana) HOD: Vice Chairman & Managing Director, SAT, Hyderabad.

2. ACTIVITIES:

1. Youth Service: As per the schedule and instructions of the Director of Youth Services the  National Youth Day Celebrations, District Youth Festival and other Youth activities will be conducting in the academic year
2. SPORTS:As per the schedule and instructions of the Vice Chairman & Managing Director, SAT, Hyderabad Annual Summer Coaching Camps, Telangana State Sports School Selections, National Sports Day, Olympic Day Run, Civil Service Tournament and Khelo India Programmes etc., will be conducting in the academic year.

• Schemes Implemented under the Department & Statistical Information:

9.  Archery Training: District Level Khelo India Center in Archery Discipline has been sanctioned by Sports Authority of India (SAI) with a sanctioned budget of Rs.9.25 lakhs and the Archery Center is functioning at Mini stadia Palvoncha. The training is imparting to 40 members in Morning and Evening session.
10. Lawn Tennis: Lawn Tennis court was constructed with outlay of Rs.50.00 lakhs and giving training to the players Morning and Evening session.
11. Summer Coaching Camps: The Summer camps are conducting in the Rural and Urban areas in the district from 1^stto 31^st May every year with (500) no.of students in the age group below 14 years.
12. Stadias: One mini stadium was sanctioned in each constituency  with cost of Rs.2.65 crores. i.e. Yellandu, Pinapaka, Kothagudem constituencies which are under construction. The identification land is under process at Bhadrachalam & Aswaraopeta constituencies.
