The I & CAD Department caters to the irrigation needs of the state of Telangana and those helps one of the basic needs of the man kind, i,e food by providing water to the crops through its system comprising reservoirs, canals, M.I tanks and other related infra structures.

Department activities.
Bhadradri District is having Jurisdiction of 23 mandals (1.Kothagudem, 2.Paloncha, 3. Chunchupalli, 4. Lakshmidevipalli 5. Sujatha Nagar, 6. Julurupadu, 7. Yellandu, 8. Tekulapally, 9. Pinapaka, 10. Manuguru, 11. Aswapuram, 12. Burgampadu, 13. Gundala, 14. Allapalli, 15. Karakagudem, 16. Bhadrachalam, 17. Charla, 18. Dummugudem, 19. Aswraopeta, 20. Dammapeta, 21. Mulakalapalli, 22. Chandrugonda and 23. Annapureddipalli) with 2369 M.I sources to Irrigate an ayacut of 129188 Acres.
This Distrcit is having 3 Medium Irrigation Projects in Bhadradri-Kothagudem District viz., Kinnersani Project Canals having Ayacut 10,000 Acres, Thaliperu Project is having Ayacut 24,700 Acres and Peddavagu Project is having Ayacut 2360 Acres.

Description about the department scheme details and related applications
The Government of Telangana has Priortized to take the restoration of minor irrigation tanks to restore them to store their Original capacity and to effectively utilize the water allocated for minor irrigation sector under Godavari & Krishna basin.The massive programme for restoration of tanks is named as “ ChinnaneetiVanaruluPunaruddarana” and it is renamed as Mission Kakatiya. In this Programme it is Planned to restore 20% of total tanks In 5 years in a phased manner.
