Brief Note:

The Public Health & Municipal Engineering Department is under administrative control of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department at the Secretariat level. The Department mainly works to provide the Safe Drinking Water, Sanitation and Solid Waste Management as a basic minimum need and improve the quality of life of urban people.

1. Activities of the Department:

The Department is in charge of Investigation, Designs, and Execution of Water Supply and Sewerage Schemes in all the Municipalities and Municipal Corporations in the state besides the Technical Control over all the Engineering works in these Municipalities and Municipal Corporations. After completion, the water supply and sewerage schemes are being handed over to the concerned ULBs for further operation and maintenance.

2. Schemes implemented under the Department:

1. Water Supply Projects Under Mission Bhageeratha in Palvancha and Yellandu
2. Construction of Integrated Veg & Non-Veg Markets in Kothagudem, Palvancha, Manuguru and Yellandu Municipalities.
3. Construction of Vaikuntadhamams in Kothagudem, Palvancha, Manuguru and Yellandu
4. Construction of Modern Dhobi Ghats in Kothagudem, Palvancha, Manuguru and Yellandu Municipalities.
5. Laying of 800mm dia DI K9 pipeline from Kalvathanda Pumphouse to Yellandu cross road filter bed in Kothagudem Municipality and maintenance work under SDF.
6. Renovation works to existing filter bed at Yellandu X road in Kothagudem Municipality under SDF.
7. Extensionof pipelines in unserved areas in Palvancha Municipality under SDF
