1. BRIEF NOTE:

Our VISION: “To protect the health of public”.

Our MISSION: “To ensure the availability of efficacious, safe and quality drugs at affordable prices as fixed by the Central Government to the public and to make the state of Telangana free of spurious drugs”.

ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT:

To implement the following Acts by way of Inspections, filing cases and pursuing court works and launching prosecutions.
Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1940 and rules 1945
Drugs & Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act 1954 and rules 1955
Drugs Price Control Order – 2013
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Rules-1986 (for limited activities) Medical Device Rules-2017
To inspect the sales premises, ensure that the guidelines of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and rules 1945 are being followed.
To inspect the Blood Centers, ensure that the guidelines of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and rules 1945 are being followed.
To pick up the samples from sales premises and Govt. stores and send them for Test/analysis at Drugs Control Laboratory, Drugs Control Administration, Hyd.
To search and seize the drugs wherein an offence under Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 is being committed.
